Welcome to Accessible Tokyo
Our organization is one of the volunteer groups belonging to the Japanese Red Cross Society and is called "The Japanese Red Cross Language Service Volunteers".
It was established approximately 40 years ago, and has been cooperating with Japanese Red Cross Society or other organizations in their activities such as translations, meeting foreign visitors with disabilities at the airport and taking them around.
"Accessible Tokyo" is one of these activities.
The division in charge of "Accessible Tokyo" has been active for more than 30 years, collecting information about the accessibility of buildings and facilities, especially for people with disabilities.
The information has been compiled and published as guide books.
The latest issue, "Accessible Tokyo 2005", is now on distribution and its contents are carried on this web site. These contents are given in Japanese and English to provide useful information for people with disabilities at home as well as from abroad.
