Introduction to our Organization


Established
Our organization started in 1965 after the volunteer interpreting service for the International Paralympics held in Tokyo in 1964.
It belongs to the National Headquarters of the Japanese Red Cross Society and is one of its Special Volunteer Corps.

Associations
Members: Approx. 250
Professions of members: office workers, professional school teachers, housewives, university students and so on.

Details of Activities
Assistance for the Japanese Red Cross Society
- Planning, management and coordination, including office work, translation and interpreting services in international exchange programs sponsored by the Japanese Red Cross Society.
- Translations from English to Japanese of manuals, reports and video tape materials from overseas on a wide range of topics, such as CPR, Disaster Relief, Activities of the International Red Cross, Dissemination of Red Cross Principles, etc.
Interpreting and translation services
Providing interpreting and translation services for events and projects led by organizations of and for the people with disabilities in Japan.

Our own unique activities
- Helping individuals with disabilities.
- Teaching Engilsh to the students of English clubs in schools for person with disabilities.
- Publication and distribution of "Accessible Tokyo".
