| Harajuku was once a quiet area where only visitors to Meiji
Shrine would stop. Today, it is a leading place for young people's
fashion and culture. Omotesando Street, which begins south of
Harajuku Station, is filled with fashionable boutiques, cafes,
and restaurants. Aoyama is the area around Omotesando Station,
where Omotesando Street and Aoyama-dori Streets intersect. It
is more for well-heeled adults. |

area is an accessible area with wide sidewalks. On weekends
and holidays, however, the area around Harajuku Station gets
particularly crowded. Wheelchair users may want to avoid the
area on these days. |
