Accessibility of the Area

  • The Shibuya area is shaped like a bowl, with the station at the bottom center. Therefore, most streets are sloped, making it difficult for wheelchair-users to move around. The main streets are paved and have wide sidewalks, but the alleys that connect them are narrow and not level. The city is extremely crowded on weekends and holidays, so that it is difficult to get around.

Tourist Attractions

  1. Tourist Attractions

If you go up Tokyu Honten-dori Street from the station, you will see the "Tokyu Bunkamura" complex in which the main branch of Tokyu Department Store, Orchard Hall (concert hall), Theater Cocoon (theater) , and The Museum are located. The cafe on the basement floor in the atrium is recommendable for wheelchair-users. Both the entrance on the Tokyu Honten-dori street side and the other entrance in front of Orchard Hall have ramps. This facility also has elevators and restrooms for the disabled, making it altogether an accessible facility.
